Inside Horizontal: Genevieve Hall

We are heading over to our design team to meet Sr. UX Designer, Genevieve Hall. Genevieve says what motivates her is, “exceeding expectations, working with bright humans, and tight deadlines.”

Tell us about your background and what led you to start working at Horizontal

I went to school for design back in the day. I’ve done everything from designing and illustrating mylar balloons to designing everything from financial, sales, and healthcare related software for startups for the last seven years.

My two buddies from college (Ridge and Matt K.) recommended that I check out Horizontal and here I am.

What industries have you focused on?

I have focused on internet service providers, the party supply industry, financial industry, sales industry, and healthcare industry.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I like talking and presenting to clients.

Why you are excited to join Horizontal?

 I like the fast- paced environment. I like to work really hard and also have a lot of fun, and all of that is imbedded into working at Horizontal.

 What personal or professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

 I’m very proud of my sweet little girl child, she was a pretty cool accomplishment.

Who are your role models and mentors?

 My role models and mentors include my dad “bob,” his motto “ignore the bullshit.” One of my biggest mentors is an old boss, Jeff Fritz, he has given me sage advice and is a great friend.

What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?

Quit comparing yourself to others. Your personality is contagious, and it is all you girl.
